Tubular Battery
Tubular batteries, also known as tube-type batteries, are a type of lead-acid battery commonly used in industrial applications due their high current discharge capabilities. These batteries consist of a series of tubular-shaped lead-acid cells that are connected in parallel to form a larger battery. The tubular design allows for a higher surface area of the lead plates, which results in increased charging efficiency and longer cycle life. Tubular batteries are also known for their ability to handle deep discharges without damage due their unique plate design which reduces internal resistance during discharge cycles.
Tubular batteries have become increasingly popular in industrial settings due their high reliability compared to traditional flooded lead-acid batteries (FLAs).
Unlike FLAs which require regular maintenance such as watering due their liquid electrolyte design, tubular batteries are sealed making them maintenance-free over their lifetime which reduces operational costs associated with battery maintenance activities such as watering, cleaning, and equalizing. Additionally, tubular batteries have a longer cycle life compared to FLAs due to their unique plate design which reduces internal resistance during discharge cycles, resulting in fewer replacements over the lifetime of the battery.
Tubular batteries are commonly used in industrial applications such as backup power systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and renewable energy storage systems due to their high reliability, long cycle life, and high current discharge capabilities. These batteries are also preferred in applications where space is limited due to their compact design. Tubular batteries are typically available in a range of capacities from 100Ah to 3000Ah, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
